While the idea of financial freedom is great, it is not very easy to attain. Starting a side hustle can be the start of your journey to financial freedom.
Side hustles are meant to earn extra money to increase your total income. There are many side hustles to try but in this blog post, I will focus on 8 great side hustles for introverts.

What are Side Hustles?
Side hustles are jobs for making some extra money next to your everyday job. You could look for side jobs when your regular income just isn’t enough for you or when you have time to spare and would love to make a little extra money to spend on fun things or save more towards your financial goals.
Side hustles can be broad, with loads of different possibilities to make some extra cash. This way, you can find a side hustle that fits your lifestyle and work preferences. You can look for a fun job to do in your free time that can make you some money.
Sometimes, it is even possible to turn your side hustles into your main hustle, but this doesn’t always work with every side hustle. Or you can combine multiple side hustles to create enough income so you don’t need your main job anymore.
Start exploring the world of side hustles and find one you enjoy! As an introvert myself, I thought it would be nice to share some side hustles that are introvert-friendly.
8 Great Side Hustles For Introverts
1. Print On Demand
If you love to design and want to sell physical products with your creations on them, the print-on-demand side hustle can be the one for you! This is a side hustle that combines creating artwork with selling physical products, without having to store all of your physical products yourself (if you work with a company that can produce everything that is).
This side hustle is called ‘Print On Demand’ because the websites you sell your stuff on only print your design on a product when a customer orders it. So there is no stock lying around as everything is printed on demand. Websites that offer their webshop, audience, and services to you are for example TeePublic, Redbubble, Society6, Teespring, etc. Your design can be printed onto clothing, mugs, stickers, tote bags, and many other things, which is really fun if you ask me!
The downfall of those POD (Print On Demand) websites is that they get a part of your sales. If you have a personal e-commerce store, you don’t have to give them a share of your profit, but then you still would have to find a company to print the designs and if you don’t want to do the shipping and customer service yourself, you also need one for that. And you will need an audience to make sales! So if you are starting an e-commerce website from scratch without any audience, it can be hard to make any sales at all.
You could also do both, try to sell your designs on POD websites and create your website and personal brand next to it.
I want to give you a heads-up about working together with websites to sell your designs, as they have strict policies that you need to follow. Read them carefully and follow along if you don’t want to get banished from them.
This is also one of the side hustles that can become a great source of passive income after you’ve created many beautiful designs.
2. Freelance Everything
You can do so many different side hustles on freelance platforms. Platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, but there are many others to check out if you want to promote your freelance services!
If you have any skills you can offer as a freelance service, great! If you don’t have any skills yet, you can learn them first to use them later on these platforms. I am talking about skills like graphic design, writing, video editing, building websites, transcribing, etc.
You don’t need a lot of stuff to start freelancing, most of the time you just need your computer and an internet connection. With freelancing, you will sell your skills and your time for money, so you can not change this into a passive income stream later on. But a big pro of freelancing is that you get your money straight away, instead of hoping for sales in the future when they might never come.
Use your knowledge and skills to help people and give them value or teach them how to do these things.
3. Dog Walking/Pet Sitting
A lot of introverts love animals, myself included as I am a gigantic dog lover!
How about making money with something you already love to do? You get to walk and cuddle with dogs or cats and get paid for it while you do it! Amazing!
Rover.com is an example of a website where you can offer your services as a pet sitter so you don’t have to go door to door offering your services to your neighbors (which can be very awkward to do). You could however also post an ad online or even in the local stores marketing your services so that you get more clients.
You can sign up on the website and the most awkward part will probably be the first time you meet the pet owners, but the focus will be on their pets and as you love animals, this won’t be that hard to talk about.
When you are done with the formalities, it’s just walking dogs and pet-sitting on dogs or cats when you are available. Sounds like a nice side hustle to me!
4. Blogging
Blogging can be one of the best side hustles for introverts all over the world! You get to do research and create articles about things you have a lot of knowledge about or want to learn more about and share them with your readers. You don’t have to be an expert before you can start a blog because you can learn so much about everything on the internet.
The downside to blogging is that at the beginning of the journey, it takes a lot of hard work at the start and it might be even possible that you never make any money with your blog. In the case of making no money blogging, you call it a hobby and not a side hustle, unfortunately.
However if you do succeed with your blog and you start getting more and more traffic, you can monetize your blog in many different ways like placing advertisements over your blog, affiliate links, or selling digital or even physical products. You can also write guest blog posts for other blogs and charge money for that. You could even offer freelance services on your blog.
If you want to start blogging as a side hustle, it is important to focus on gaining traffic first before you think about monetization. You can do this by focusing on writing quality blog posts in a profitable niche, doing keyword research to find out which content people are looking for, and making your website and blog posts SEO-friendly.
When you are getting a decent amount of traffic, you can apply for affiliate programs or ad companies like Google Ads and start making money!
Blogging is one of the side hustles that can develop into a source of passive income as well, which is great if it works out.
5. Virtual Assistant
Another great side hustle for introverts is being a virtual assistant.
A virtual assistant does the same job as a personal assistant, but the big difference is that you can be a virtual assistant from the comfort of your home. There are probably even some virtual assistant positions where you don’t even have to call your boss but can do all of the communication through email, which is the dream of every introvert, right?
Virtual assistants do everything from planning their employer’s agenda to scheduling meetings, making appointments, booking conference rooms, and sending emails to customers, the list can be endless and will be different for every company out there. Anything that can be done through your computer and things they trust you with can be directed to you.
When you do this on a freelance basis, you can do this next to a regular job to make some extra income. You will exchange your time for money so this will never become a source of passive income, but it is a proper side hustle for introverts. This could also be a full-time job if you would like that!
6. Creating and Selling Digital or Physical Products
A great side hustle that can provide passive income as well, is selling digital products. You create them once and can sell them over and over again without any more effort, that’s what makes it also a good source of passive income.
Selling physical products is also a great way to make extra money, but it is more difficult to make it passive, as someone needs to make the product over and over again if you keep getting sales. You can outsource jobs after a while and could make it passive if you really want it to.
You can create your products all by yourself or get some help from freelancers. If you are a creative person, it might be fun to design or develop your products and take pride in your fabrications.
There are different places where you can sell your products. You can own an e-commerce store or website to sell your products on but if you don’t have an audience yet, it might be more practical and easier to start selling on platforms that already have an audience. Let me give you some examples: Etsy, Gumroad, Amazon, Creative Fabrica, etc.
7. Online Surveys
This is one of the side hustles that has the most certainty of making money because you don’t need to get hired and don’t really need any skills at all. You are giving away your time for not that much money, but hey, it is still something!
With online surveys, you can get paid pretty quickly in comparison to some of the other side hustles I mentioned above. So if you need a little money really quick, filling out online surveys might be your best way to go. Some survey sites only pay you after you hit a certain amount of money, while others pay you after every survey you’ve completed.
You can fill out surveys whenever you have some time to kill like when you are waiting at the doctor’s practice or when you are traveling by public transport. If you are mindlessly scrolling on your phone and wasting your time otherwise, it’s nice that you can make some money with it instead.
Here is the link to a website that shares the best places to take paid online surveys and the things you need to watch out for, check it out.
Filling out online surveys is one of the easiest side hustles and therefore won’t make you rich, but it’s nice to have a little extra to put into your savings or fun spending bucket.
8. Affiliate Marketing
I talked about this before in a blog post about passive income. You don’t need a personal website to start with affiliate marketing as many might think.
Affiliate marketing is an introvert-friendly way of marketing where you don’t have to have personal contact with the customers. You work together with a company that offers an affiliate program or shares affiliate links with you of their products that you can promote using their special links. Whenever someone clicks on your link or buys something through it, you will get a commission.
You can share your special affiliate links with anyone, but it might come in handy to build an audience first. You can do this on a social media account like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc., and share the link with your followers where you can provide some information to them in your content. Or you can create your own website to share links in your blog posts for example or share these links with the people in your mailing list.
I think it’s best to like or test the products you are promoting yourself before you can promote them to others, you don’t want people to buy shitty things through your links, then they won’t trust you anymore.
Conclusion
There are a lot more side hustles that can be done to get some extra cash, but I think I covered some great ones, especially for introverts.
Try to find a side hustle you like doing so that you won’t get bored and tired and want to quit before you even make any money. Pick out the one that stands out most to you and give it a proper go!
If you have more spare time, you could combine some of them to see which one works out for you, but it can be exhausting if you are doing all of these next to your regular job. So mind your energy levels to not get demotivated.
Side hustles can be a creative outlet as well, they don’t necessarily only have a money-making purpose. If you love to design and can sell your artwork online, how amazing is that?
I hope you find a side hustle you like and start making money with it. Give it some time, try your best and even if it doesn’t work out, you will always gain skills that you might use somewhere else in the future!
